Beautiful and unique antique floor lamp with Byzantine motifs has been hand painted with colorful detailing and holds a hand-dyed Immortals Chinoiserie silk lampshade. The shade is dyed pale turquoise and is covered with gilded golden antique metallic lace. The center panels on each side are the focal point and feature exquisitely detailed and colorful antique Chinese figural embroideries representing two of the Eight Immortals of Chinese mythology who became immortals by means of practicing Taoist magical arts. In the pink robe is Lü Dongbin - often represented as a scholar. In the blue robe is Li Tieguai ("the iron crutch") an irascible character benevolent to the less fortunate.
The shade has long hand-beaded fringe in matching tones of gold, turquoise, green and bright pink. The bespoke strands feature a mix of glass, vintage and natural stone beads. An ornate vintage filigree beaded pull chain completes the lamp. This is one of my favorite lamps ever!
Overall height is 64.5 inches to the top of the finial.
Shade dimensions are approximately 21 x 15.5 inches.
